Our successful school meals are provided by North Yorkshire County Caterers. The menus are carefully planned to be not only nourishing and well-balanced but attractive to the children as well. They are cooked on the premises and represent good value for money. There is a link at the bottom of the page to this term's menu and the new foods standards introduced in January 2015.
From September 2014 key stage one children (Reception, Year 1 and Year 2) are entitled to a school meal provided free of charge. This is funded by Central Government.
We do feel that lunchtimes are social occasions and would encourage you to allow your child to participate fully in school meals where table manners and a sharing of conversation and simple tasks become a pleasant routine.
School meals are currently £10.50 per week (£2.10/day), except for Nursery children – these are £8.00 (£1.60/day). Meals should be paid for in advance at the school office.
Children may bring a packed lunch if they wish. We have children in school who experience a severe reaction to nuts and eggs. Please ensure that your child does not bring anything containing nuts or eggs into school, for instance peanut butter or egg sandwiches, bars containing nuts.
Any child who wishes to change from school meals to packed lunches or vice versa must give two weeks notice, in writing.
All children are offered a portion of fruit each day at morning break.
