What catch-up funding is for?

The government announced £1 billion of funding to support children and young people to catch up lost time after school closure. This is especially important for the most vulnerable and disadvantaged backgrounds.

From the funding that we are in receipt of, we have designed a catch-up support programme that enables all of our children to receive some level of support. Before putting a support programme in place we carried out a range of assessments to help identify gaps and ascertain what learning has been remembered/forgotten.

Tier 1:

'Universal' support for all children through funded resource packs and Quality First Teaching.

 

Tier 2:

'Group' support for children needing further teaching sessions to support them in developing their confidence in the next step of their education journey. 

 

Tier 3

'Targeted' support for children identified as needing structured interventions from the class teacher and support assistant
